We have an accessible outdoor swimming pool for residents, as well as a congregate area for group activities, potlucks, and parties. Our Exercise & Wellness Program is also conveniently located on campus for participating residents.

Other community features include:

  • Large pond with a gazebo
  • Accessible computer lab
  • Clyde C. Berger Library
  • Security staff (nights and weekends)
  • Group activities such as Garden Club, Book Club, adult learning opportunities, private events, and more!

In addition, the Timbers has three Federal Emergency Management Agency tornado shelters strategically placed around the campus. A HUD Service Coordinator is also on staff to assist residents with annual forms, utility assistance enrollment, nutritional commodities distribution, and more.

A U.S. Housing and Urban Development-funded property built in 1979, the Timbers was the first wheelchair accessible housing community of its kind in the nation. The Timbers has received multiple HUD Property of the Year awards.
