Job Description & Requirements

  • Position Type: Part-Time
  • Salary: $15-17/hr.

Position Summary:

Provides transportation services; records appropriate documentation regarding usage of vehicles and services provided; attend required in-service trainings. Performs other duties as directed by the Director.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide safe, reliable, courteous, efficient transportation service.
  • Record all gas and other purchases.
  • Record mileage on soft copy of gas receipt.
  • Give all receipts to Director.
  • Inspect vehicles daily to ensure cleanliness and need for maintenance and repairs.
  • Completes daily driver checklist.
  • Attend required in-service trainings.
  • All Drivers will be required to assist in receiving/retrieving phone message for transportation.
  • All Drivers will be required to record messages they receive in the transportation schedule book.
  • All Drivers will assist in booking rides on the appropriate broker websites.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Director.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalency

EXPERIENCE: One year of commercial driving experience preferred; previous use of lifts and tie-downs preferred.

SKILLS: Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement required; First aid and CPR certified; familiarity with city layout; good driving record for the past three years; ability to read map.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up 50 pounds or more. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate machines such as transportation vehicles, lifts to transfer clients, and telephone. Requires ability to move wheelchairs and scooters. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires creativity to analyze situations and recommend solutions. Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Personal maturity and sensitivity is an important attribute.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Vehicle environment; must be able to drive 90% of the time. Depending on assigned shift or days, may work evenings and/or weekends. Provide services in all types of weather.
