Job Description & Requirements
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekends and rare overtime requirements.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a positive and ambitious candidate to join our growing team. This roll will be responsible to set-up, perform service repairs of durable medical equipment, and providing technical support and maintenance for wheelchair equipment. We need someone that has a combination of strong technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills and excellent customer service. Mechanical aptitude preferred. Willing to train motivated individual.
Essential Job Functions:
- Customization & Fabrication: Design and build wheelchair components using metalworking, woodworking, and textiles.
- Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical wheelchair issues.
- Client Assessment: Work closely with clients, therapists, and caregivers to determine the best mobility solutions.
- Technical Expertise: Operate tools for cutting, welding, sewing, and assembling wheelchair components.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all modifications meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Learn from technicians with 20+ years of experience in electronics, metalwork, and woodworking.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required technical certifications or training in related fields (example: automotive repair, electrical systems) is a plus.
EXPERIENCE: 1 years of experience in mechanical repair, electrical systems, or working with mobility equipment is preferred. Hands-on experience with scooters, power chairs, or similar devices is a plus. Working with hand tools, metals, leathers, plastics, foams, and CAD/CAM technology, grinding, and general assembly and finishing are all aspects of the position.
SKILLS: Excellent time management skills. Self-directed. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

- Dexterity: Requires manual precision to operate tools, machinery, and assembly equipment.
- Mobility: Frequent sitting, standing, bending, and reaching to adjust and fabricate wheelchair components.
- Strength: Must be able to lift and maneuver various materials such as metal, wood, fabric, and wheelchair parts.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Essential for cutting, welding, sewing, and assembling wheelchair components accurately.
- Basic Computer Skills: Must be able to use email communication and log work completed using digital tracking systems or company software.
