Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detailed Human Resources Coordinator/Generalist to join our team. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions and initiatives, ensuring that our organization fosters a positive work environment. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a focus on enhancing employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws.

Report to Director of Human Resources and performs directed tasks including but not limited to: Assisting in administering policies relating to human resources activities, performs assigned duties in the area of employee recruitment, interviewing, new hires (processing background checks, MVR’s physicals, drug screening), orientation, training, enrolling and management of employee benefits, maintenance of employee human resources files and assist in conducting exit interviews. May assist in HR investigations, may handle special assignments, and projects in EEO/Affirmative Action, employee grievances, or classification and compensation. Must maintain confidentiality, exercise initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions or directing to appropriate person
  • Maintains I-9, E-Verification and Self-Identification books
  • Processes appropriate backgrounds, MVR’s, physicals and drug screenings as required by licensing agencies and general safety of all staff and clients.
  • Assists in processing leave request forms
  • Assist in providing guidance in performance evaluations
  • Assists in research regarding policies, government regulations, and/or special projects
  • Enters applicants hiring information into appropriate HRIS systems.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process
  • Assist in orientation and on-boarding process
  • Enter benefits administration of health/dental/vision insurance, and retirement program.
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Makes photocopies, fax documents and performs other clerical functions
  • Files papers and documents into appropriate employee personnel files
  • Assists and/or prepares correspondence
  • Prepares new employee files
  • Performs receptionist duties as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Human Resource Coordinator: 2 years (Required)
  • Minimum HR certification PHR or SHRM-CP. Consideration of experience and education in lieu of certifications will be given.
  • Good organizational and time management skills. Self-starter: ability to communicate and participate tactfully, assertively in-group meetings, ability to write proper business memos, assist in policy manual updates.
  • MS Word and Excel spreadsheet knowledge; familiarity with HRIS databases.
  • Bachelor’s (Preferred)
