Backed by a 30-year rehabilitation engineering history, the School of Adaptive Computer Training team works in total synergy toward individual success — in the classroom and in today’s dynamic work place.

Each SACT classroom is equipped with completely adaptive, state-of-the-art, adjustable work stations and assistive software and devices.  Microsoft certified instructors add to the SACT’s customized training environment while Microsoft approved curriculum and on site certification further define the SACT experience.  A total package for success is completed by career-placement assistance — before and after graduation.

Experience the difference at the School of Adaptive Computer Training and take control of your career path today.

Assessments
Provided by the CPRF Vocational Assessment Department, each student applicant is evaluated to determine his job aptitudes, interests and personality traits.  This service helps ensure that those interested in becoming a SACT student enter the school with the highest possible potential for success.

Assistive Technology
Through the vocational assessment and other evaluation tools, people with disabilities enter the classroom with the right technology to get the job done.  Whether it be a one-handed keyboard, a voice recognition system or a headmouse, students who require assistive software and hardware are matched with the right technology.  Many SACT graduates are able to take their new technology to the jobsite.

Guest Speakers
The SACT has a tradition of using guest speakers to enrich the learning environment.  Many of them are members of the school's
Business Advisory Council who provide the students insight on current business environments, the ins and outs of interviewing for a job, and common workplace courtesy that will help them stand above the crowd.

Resume Building
A vital part of the school's curriculum includes resume writing as well as other business writing skills necessary during job search efforts.

Mock Interviews
As each class nears graduation, students participate in mock job interviews designed to help each student hone their interpersonal and professional communication skills.  This important prepatory activity is supported by members of the
Business Advisory Council and the CPRF Placement Department team.

"Learning directly from the people I might encounter during an interview really boosted my self-confidence."
-- Shawn Satterfield, 2001 SACT graduate

Job Placement
Members of each SACT
Business Advisory Council and the CPRF Placement Department serve as mentors to students -- before and after graduation. Career readiness training and placement assistance can include: resume development and distribution; soft-skills training; mock interviews to sharpen interpersonal and professional skills; development of professional networking skills; and more.

Benefits Counseling
For those who receive public assistance, the CPRF team of professional benefits counselors are added to the student support network.  Two distinct CPRF programs are available: the
Kansas Benefits Counselors Network and the Benefit and Tax Research program.
