River City Roll: Black & White Bash

The River City Roll benefit is a biennial fundraiser launched in 2007. Celebrated at the Wichita Country Club, guests indulge in signature cocktails, gourmet foods, silent and live auctions, a raffle, live music, dancing, and our most recent crowd pleasing addition: Fund-A-Cause.

Fund-A-Cause provides a convenient donation opportunity for guests who would like to contribute, but are unable to participate in the silent or live auctions. The entire room collaboratively funds two customized seating systems with their donations. Guests can give donation amounts starting at $25 with incremental increases as the bidding continues. Each component of the seating system is broken down by price to sponsor (e.g. Head Rest $350, Joy stick $1500, Sip & Puff $3,000, etc.). With customized seating systems costing upwards of $18,000, this is an incredible collective effort to fund a meaningful piece of equipment that elevates the quality of life for someone with a disability.

Customized seating systems are only one of many types of adaptive equipment that the CPRF Equipment Fund supports. The funds raised make it possible for Kansans of all ages and varying disabilities to receive other essential resources tailored to their needs. Items such as hospital beds, van modifications, standing wheelchairs, van lifts, cranial molding helmets, and shower chairs are crucial means to independence for those we serve.
