Patrick T. Jonas assumed the duties of president and chief executive officer of the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of Kansas, Inc., in September 2000 after serving as chief operating officer since January 1998.
Mr. Jonas oversees the day-to-day operations of the Wichita-based foundation and its entities which has grown into an $18 million corporation. The CPRF mission is to provide people with disabilities customized services, supports and technologies to facilitate their chosen economic and personal independence, with an emphasis on employment and training. The foundation has more than 200 employees in Wichita, including its east Wichita headquarters, the Daniel M. Carney Rehabilitation Engineering Center, the Timbers 100-unit apartment complex, Center Industries Corporation and others. CIC is a 501 (c)(3) diverse manufacturing company where 75 percent to the production workforce are people with disabilities. One of CIC‘s most recognizable contracts is the production of automobile license plates for the state of Kansas.
After graduating from Wichita State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s in physical therapy, Mr. Jonas directed nursery and pediatric physical therapy care programs at the Beatrice State Developmental Center, Beatrice, Neb. In 1983, Mr. Jonas returned to his home state to work for Mid-Kansas Physical Therapy Services. In 1986, he partnered with East and West Side Physical Therapy which included consulting to CIC, Rainbows United and his alma mater Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School. After the partners sold the business to NovaCare in 1993, Mr. Jonas stayed on to manage the East Wichita practice until his move to CPRF.
Mr. Jonas and his wife, Pamela, have four children: Carrie, Tim, Gavin and Frankie.
